849 - Unusual Fulvio Bianconi (?) Object |
Price: $500.00 |
|
This extremely unusual sculptural item is made of solid, clear glass with internal red and green inclusions. It is unsigned, but possibly by Fulvio Bianconi for Cenedese, circa 1950s. In the 1950s, Bianconi, who is best known for his creations for Venini, designed a series of objects for Cenedese in which he "drew" with multicolored glass threads in colorless glass. The distinctive color scheme and bold experimentation of this non-functional item makes Bianconi a likely designer. Unsigned.
The piece has a biomorphic, freeform shape which measures approximately 7.5" at the longest. It stands over 4" tall and has three "indentations" on the top and sides. It is extremely heavy, as it is solid glass. In excellent condition with minor wear to the bottom and sides of the polished base. This is one of the most interesting items I have found in a while. |
